Patients come first
Salem Spine Center opened in June 2008 to meet the growing need in our community for a more rapid spine treatment process.
While the Salem Spine Center does not personally see or treat patients, it is a service that coordinates locally with referring physicians, patients, spine specialists and surgeons to accelerate patient treatment for neck, spine and back problems.
Often patients dealing with spine pain are referred to neurosurgeons. However, nearly 80 percent of patients who see a spinal surgeon do not require surgery.
While waiting weeks for an appointment, a patient who may not need surgery could be treated more quickly and appropriately by going straight to a physical therapist or physiatrist.
The Salem Spine Center addresses this problem by facilitating early review of a patient's medical status by a spine specialist. The spine center staff will then assist with seamless coordination of treatment recommendations.
We are dedicated to getting you back to your regular activities as soon as possible.
